Original iPhone is officially dead after 10 years
AT&T have killed the original iPhone after shuttering its 2G network
For four years AT&T have been planning to pull the plug on its 2G network and it has finally happened. For owners of the original iPhone (in the US), this news means your retro handset is now officially dead. There are plenty of other things you could use your old iPhone for, such as a nostalgic paperweight or framed for artistic purposes. It is the end of an era (or a decade to be more precise.)
Judging by the lack of outcry when the network finally stopped 2G working, it does not appear to have had a huge impact on today’s world. So as we bid adieu to the first generation of iPhone we are making way for Apple’s 10th Anniversary iPhone.
