Best luggage for all needs
- 10 Mar, 2016
When the sky fills with grey clouds and the ‘heavens open’ (on an almost daily basis) our minds turn to winter sunshine. We’re on the last lap towards Christmas (only 6 and a half weeks away!) and some of us are in need something to look forward to once the festivities and glittery tinsel have gone back in their boxes. Being very organized people we’ve been looking ahead and have been compiling our Christmas wish lists with helpful bits and bobs to streamline our future travels. Here are our top five luggage recommendations for making you feel like an A-lister on the tarmac…
Dunhill’s Chassis Holdall
At £1490 this is most definitely a ‘splashing’ out luggage indulgence. Made of a printed carbon fibre and features vegetable tanned leather trims . Internal details include padded flat pocket with stud closure. This holdall says ‘understated luxury’.
Kingsman globe-trotter case
Crafted entirely by hand in England, each Globe-Trotter suitcase undergoes 98 individual manufacturing steps and takes up to ten days to produce. This has to be the most English suitcase you could possibly have. This 21” model even features a pin-stripped twill lining. And at only £5 more expensive than the Dunhill model it is the most expensive of the five.
Samsonite Neopulse (Paris edition)
Samsonite have always had a bit of je-ne-se-quoi which is probably down to their engineered polycarbonate outer-shell that means they are light but ridiculously sturdy. It features a streamlined handle and those oh-so-easy 360 degree wheels that makes dodging ‘tourist dawdlers’ all that much easier. Ranging from £169 – 215 these gems are infinitely more affordable and will last years to come.
Quiksilver Centurion Modern Original Wheelie Duffle
Famed for their surfer style quicksilver are also advocates of adventure. The wheelie duffle has dual usage either in hand or on wheels and will satisfy all your hipster style needs. It’s made of polyester so is an easy wipe-clean material. And at £75 it’s the most accessible of the bunch.
DJ Steve Aoki X Micro Scooter limited edition luggage scooter
The most novel of the lot is this multi-tasking number at £350. Primarily it is a 26L zipped suitcase with adjustable handle but with a nifty fold-down scooter. It also features an integrated Bluetooth Sound2Go speaker. It should be pointed out that this is suitable for 12+ year olds. That’s us then!
