Guide to buying a designer case

We understand that fashion is important to you. You care about the latest looks and trends, know your Dior from your Chanel and could spot a Birkin bag from a mile away on a foggy day.

Case Hut cares about fashion too. A lot. That’s why we’ve rounded up some of the best designer phone cases to give you the chance to own a small part of some very big design houses.

But where do you begin? What will suit your individual style and taste? Our experts have put together a guide to ensure you get the style you want.

Kenzo

Modern, vibrant, eclectic. That’s Kenzo. And if that’s you, you need to get your hands on a piece of the powerhouse brand.

Jean Paul Gaultier

Case Hut brings two of Gaultier’s phone case designs to you – both iconic and perpetually representative of the designer’s work.

Christian Lacroix

If your style is colourful and feminine the Christian Lacroix cases will be the perfect complement to any outfit.

Kenzo was established in 1970 by Kenzo Takada, a Japanese-born Paris-based designer. Takada’s collections mixed his Japanese heritage with Parisian chic and gained fans with A-listers all over the world before he retired in 1999.

Now under the guardianship of cutting-edge retail duo Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, the brand has resurged with quirky prints, street influences and that iconic tiger motif. Modern, vibrant, eclectic.

That’s Kenzo. And if that’s you, you need to get your hands on a piece of the powerhouse brand. Drawing inspiration from Kenzo’s SS13 Clouded Leopard print, Case Hut has sourced two designer cases which reflect the brand’s contemporary and fashion-forward nature. For more than 30 years French designer Jean Paul Gaultier has challenged standard views of fashion. Branded in the fashion world as “l’enfant terrible” for his boundary pushing designs, Gaultier gained worldwide fame with the creation of the conical bra for Madonna. It now ranks among some of the most iconic designs in history.

Case Hut brings two of Gaultier’s phone case designs to you – both iconic and perpetually representative of the designer’s work. The first, Maison, is a book style opening case with an embossed logo. It incorporates Gaultier’s “can” design – seen in his work with Diet Coke and the casings for his male and female fragrances.

If you appreciate Gaultier’s designs, this is definitely an easy way to subtly incorporate his work into your everyday life. If you’ve long been a fan of Gaultier, you’ll know the Breton stripe has been a favourite of the designer. The striped Breton shirt was introduced in 1858 as the French navy seamen uniform in Brittany and Gaultier has featured the style heavily in both his men and women’s collections. The Mariniére phone case is the ultimate nod to Gaultier, a true representation of French style and his body of work.
Christian Lacroix, another iconic French designer, opened his own haute couture house in 1987. With a background in historical costume and clothing, Lacroix soon made headlines with theatrical, opulent, fantasy creations including the short puffball skirt (“le pouf”). If your style is colourful and feminine the Christian Lacroix cases will be the perfect complement to any outfit. Escape into holiday mode with the Eden Roc case, based on the famous Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc.

The luxury French hotel in the Antibes has long-been the refuge for celebrities from around the world. We’ve also added Lacroix’s Butterfly print cases in both pink and black. They’re inspired by the gardens of Alcazar, the royal palace in Seville, Spain which has been regarded as being one of the most beautiful palaces in the country.

Why shouldn’t your phone case be beautiful too?! Finally, Lacroix’s Paseo case features the iconic motif of the Christian Lacroix maison. A book style case, it draws upon the embroideries of a torero cape and includes an internal card holder. Classic and simple, the understated beauty of this case is enhanced by its practicality. All cases have been made in France and include a metal Lacroix logo and are shock and scratch-proof.
